As of now, Philippe Gilbert and Peter Nevhagen are heading the global Freight Management Division of French logistics group Geodis
Both Philippe Gilbert and Peter Nevhagen are taking responsibility as Executive Vice Presidents, succeeding Jeff Hoogesteger in his CEO role. “Since freight management plays a truly significant role in the sustainable and profitable growth strategy for the whole Group, we will continue to move forward with the remarkable success story of our division”, states Philippe Gilbert.
By merging Geodis Overseas and TNT Freight Management in 2007, and due to the recent takeover of German transport specialist Rohde & Liesenfeld, Geodis Wilson has quickly become one of the leading logistics service providers in the world, today consisting of 5.500 employees, based in almost 250 offices in more than 50 countries all around the globe.
Peter Nevhagen and Philippe Gilbert will also continue in their existing roles, being Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operations Officer. “This will ensure a direct and efficient link between corporate management and business development”, says Nevhagen.
Jean Louis Demeulenaere, new Chairman of Geodis Wilson SAS, commented: “It is my full conviction that our new division management structure will perfectly support our ambitious business goals.” One of these objectives will be to further strengthen the Vertical Market Approach of Geodis Wilson, especially in the sectors Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Aviation, Marine Logistics, Retail and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG’s), Oil & Gas, High Tech and Luxury Goods.
Another Key objective is to fully and fluently connect the growing freight forwarding division to the Group’s end-to-end logistics service offering. This will further increase Geodis’ ability to globally coordinate the whole range of logistics solutions, from part and full truck loads to all kind of air and sea transports, from groupage and express services to contract and reverse logistics.
