Geodis Wilson, the global freight management company, is continuing the growth of its Middle East network and has announced a number of new management appointments:
Sascha Geiken has been named as Managing Director for the United Arab Emirates. He will be based at Geodis Wilson’s regional headquarters in Dubai and will lead a team of 70 staff in company’s offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In his new position he will be responsible for global customer relations in the Middle East region and for overseeing the long-term growth of Geodis Wilson’s freight management and supply chain services.
Geiken began his career with Exel in Germany in 1995 and gained experience in the Middle East region by working for Exel, IJS Global and Al-Futtaim Logistics in Dubai. “I am looking forward to the new challenge and the opportunity to work for Geodis Wilson. As part of the new SNCF Geodis Group, the company has a strong regional presence, with a sophisticated international network connected both across the Gulf region and globally,” commented Geiken.
The new management team will have four further members. Casmiro Sequeira, who has been appointed Branch Manager, Dubai Cargo Village (DCV). Sequeira comes with 20 years of experience in the Gulf region. He will be responsible to develop the company’s air freight and sea-air business. Mohammed Saquib, who worked for Al Futtaim / Exel has joined Geodis Wilson as Seafreight Manager, while Kiran Menezzies has been appointed Key Account Manager, Health Care, serving such international clients in the sector.
A further new appointment has also been announced. Francois Coron will take the role of Director, Industrial Projects, Middle East/India. Prior to joining Geodis Wilson, Coron gained valuable Gulf experience working for Panalpina. “
Summarising the strategy behind the new organization Geiken commented “Dubai is one of the three major sea and air cargo hub within our network. It is essential to achieve our planned growth that the new management team expands our services and delivers solution, which are relevant to the particular needs of our customers in this fast emerging market.”
With its local and international experience in the Middle East region, Geodis Wilson is offering customers a full range of freight management and logistics solutions, including various value added services such as customs clearance, 4,000 square metres of warehousing facilities, pick & pack services, LCL-FCL groupage container service with re-distribution to Gulf and East African countries as well as industrial project cargo expertise.
